Group enrollment tool

Overview

The task at hand was to build an online insurance enrollment tool for groups. Building GET, as it was called, had been attempted twice previously using Waterfall methodology. Our agile team built and launched the MVP site within six months of formation.

Problem

Building the site required the involvement of many disparate stakeholders. Gathering requirements and recreating a 'paper process' while at the same time creating a more efficient, more 'delightful' experience, was a key goal.

Research & Analysis

Years of industry experience and knowledge from a large group of insurance professionals made research immediate and essential. Support and SME's helped inform the design as well as test the usability of proposed design patterns.

Wireframing & Prototyping

Design work was performed largely in a 'team room' where SME's, devs, and BA's were co-located.

Design

One major change in the app, was to focus on personalisation. Our aim was to improve user engagement by understanding more about a user’s personal preferences, allowing us to predict and tailor relevant movies & TV shows to each individual user.

Results

Phase 1 launch of the results of the project was a successful, on schedule, launch. The functionality was well-received for it's modern, responsive framework and clean look and feel.

"Most people make the mistake of thinking design is what it looks like. People think it’s this veneer – that the designers are handed this box and told 'make it look good'. That’s not what we think design is. It’s not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works"  Steve Jobs, US computer engineer & industrialist.
